Common questions
What ID do I need to be notarized? +
A current government-issued photo ID: driver's license, state ID card, US passport, or a military ID. The ID must be unexpired and show your signature. If you don't have one, two credible witnesses who know you personally can sometimes be used — call ahead to confirm.
How much does a notarization cost? +
California caps the notary fee at $15 per signature. For mobile appointments there is also a travel fee that depends on the distance and time of day. You'll know the full price before I arrive — no surprises.
Do you come to me? +
Yes. I'm a mobile notary serving San Jose and roughly a 30-mile radius around it — hospitals, homes, offices, jails, title companies, assisted living, wherever the signing needs to happen.
Can you notarize same-day? +
Usually, yes. Call or submit a request and I'll tell you the soonest window I can reach you. Evenings and weekends are welcome.
What can't you notarize? +
I can't notarize vital records (birth, marriage, or death certificates) — those come from the issuing government agency. I also can't provide legal advice, draft documents, or certify copies of documents where California law requires a certified copy from the original agency.
Can you do loan signings? +
Yes. I'm an NNA-certified signing agent (Commission #2348546), background-screened, familiar with refinance, purchase, HELOC, and reverse-mortgage packages.
